Yes, you've heard the old expression?  "You can't teach old antibodies new tricks"?  Buy it by the half gallon and save yourself some money!!!

Not a problem for me.  I am hardly ever sick with colds or flu, and when I am it is usually mild.  I consider that my thyroid levels are pretty optimal for me at the moment.

Guess we're all different.

I agree it "can" be associated with the "disease" - but look at the disease... what is it...

Hypothyroidism is a breakdown of hormones.. that control many things... one . it will weaken the immune system alot..

Having hypothyroidism is really not what causes the illness - but the body fighting to hard against them.

Raising your immune system - AND - getting optimal with your "right" thyroid hormones like the FT3 and FT4 can fight off those nasty bugs and keep you well.

I used to work in a school.. When I was hypo ill - I was always sick... I just recently left the school but spent 3 years there very well - since I learned how to balance my body right with hypothyroidism and be able to fight off all those bugs from all those kids...

Zinc
Vit c - in high amounts like 2500mgs.
B's
copper and magnesium

I have not found this to be true.  We're all different. The answer may be your granddaughter...kids, especailly kids just starting school, are little petrie dishes of bacteria, viruses, etc.  They really do bring home all kinds of goodies.

Ice cream cures everything that isn't helped by chicken soup!

oh goodness...I'm in the same boat as you. For the past 5 or 6 years, I've been the one who NEVER got sick. Maybe, just maybe, once and at tops twice a year. Things would go around school and I wouldn't catch it. But now....gosh I've been healthy only 2 out of the past 6 months healthy. I've had bronchitis for a month now. I've become the person who catches everything going around in school. I'm not a thyroid patient, but it is strongly suspected (except by my doctor of course...boo). And tamraW will also tell you that thyroid disease patients do get sick more often. But some will tell you they don't. It may just depend on the person.
