i would ask for a copy of the labs. also, i'd ask for a full thyroid panel (if they haven't done so) like...
tsh
free t3
free t4
antithyroglobulin
antiTPO
the anti's above will indicate if she has thyroiditis. with the swelling and lethargy, it's very possible that it could be a thyroiditis (which makes lymph nodes/thyroid swell).
could she have mono?
demand more from the doctors. sometimes when you're not getting answers, you have to become a detective/doctor yourself. definitely ask for a copy of the labs. with thyroiditis, there can be a lull between normal values and hypo/hyper values. also, did they check for any other viruses/infections?
Weren't given lab results with reference ranges, only told that all TSH levels were normal. All her CBC blood work came back normal, but the swelling in her neck is evident and she is more tired than usual. She is active in softball and gets tired more easily, even lightheaded. She says it does not bother her. She can swallow just fine, but the difference in her demeanor is evident. Teacher has stated she's been more lethargic in the last few weeks before we noticed swelling.
could be goiter/hashimotos with enlarged lymph nodes? what are her labs with reference ranges?
