Okay so you just started sythroid 2 weeks ago? What dosage did the dr put you on? When dosaging synthroid you should be getting your thyroid labs done every 6 weeks until you are at an optimum level.....but you need to be checked every 3 months after that to keep checking for more thyroid failure and to see if you need med increase.
As long as your doctor understands that proper tsh levels need to be lowered and supressed to .50-1.0, and keeps an eye on you free t3 and free t4 levels and understands proper normal levels, then keep him.....otherwise don't hesitate to find a thyroid specialist. I look forward to seeing your bloodwork at the 6 week mark to see how you are doing! Hang in there! :)
Thanks for replying. My TSH was 3.348 and my T3 was 2.8. I started synthroid a couple weeks ago. Should I see an endo doc for the peroxidase antibody being so high, >6500.0?
It just means that you have ALOT of hashi antibodies at work right now. What exactly were your TSH and Free T3 results? A hashi patients TSH should be supressed to a .50-1.0 in order to allow your body to heal somewhat. Anything over that and you are considered hypo and probably symptomatic. Your T4 being low suggests you need meds.
