I've listed my levels about 3 differnet times in the past few days on several different posts in this community. Please check out my profile if you have a chance.
I too am thinking the cytomel may be too high and maybe I should back off it and increase the synthroid.
thanks for your comment!
This is a very old post, so it's likely that Evka will not answer.
It sounds like you are on too high a dose of cytomel, with the strong heart beat, etc.
Maybe it would be good if you start your own post, listing your latest lab results, along with the reference ranges (these vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report), symptoms, etc. That would help members comment more fully on your own situation, rather than relying on a post that is almost 2 yrs old.
I too am tryiing to find out answers about synthroid cytomel combination. Have you learned anything since this post?
Also the cold toes is a hypo symptom. My feet, esp toes are always cold...sometimes they turn purple and it can be a nice comfortable 75 to 80 degrees. I also have to wear a jacket in the office while working and everyone thinks I'm crazy to be cold.
My doctor has been sort of experimenting with my synthroid cytomel dosage and we just haven't gotten it right. Right now I'm on 35 mcg cytomel with 25 mcg synthroid. I feel hypo yet I still have a strong heart beat sensation like its beating out of my chest and occasionally I'll just get super hot really easily. Very strange.
I don't know if my next step should be (1)to increase synthroid and decrease cytomel or (2) just totally quit taking synthroid and only take cytomel.
I have had a RT3 issue that means I don't convert T4 to T3 very well so that's why I was wondering if only taking cytomel would work since the synthroid is T4 and I'd have to rely on my "unreliable" body converting it into usable T3. et in the office when no one else does.
I saw my endocrinologist on Friday. I am staying on the same dose: 112 Synthroid and 5 Cytomel because in general I feel fine on that and the doctor feels OK with my numbers. However the cold toes are becoming a big problem. I just went snowboarding and after a couple of runs I thought that my toes were frozen. At first they were so cold that they hurt but when I lost all feeling to them, it was just scary. They thawed out after a couple of hours in the lodge but the whole experience was just scary and unfamiliar as I have been using the same boots etc. for last 12 years and never had a problem. Does anybody else have the same "cold toe syndrome"? What do you do?
I loaded up on calcium and vitamins and bought foot warmers and with warmer weather it helped the next day but it still is not normal. even with chemical toe warmers my toes instead of being toasty were quite cold but not freezing.
Any ideas are super appreciated.
can anybody suggest something??
I feel like I have my weight under control, but I do need help getting to a stable and comfortable dose of thyroid medication. I would like to be able to be pregnant soon and I would love any thoughts on the mix of Synthroid and Cytomel. Thank you.

my glucose is probably fine - I never had any sugar issues. Yes - I am missing the thyroid and all the lymph nodes and 2 of my parathyroids. My T4 fro 1.3 and calcium 9.4. Don't know my T3.
Welcome to the community. When you get your meds straightened out there is a great Weight Loss Community here that many of us here on thyroid belong to, also.

How is your free T3 and free T4?, those are more important. How is your glucose (morning) and calcium levels?, as I understood, you don't have thyroid?
