Hi, for the evaluation of calcium level, it seems that hospitals only do serum total calcium, which is not a good indicator of real calcium, what do you think of it?
There is new research done on Vit D deficiency. Many thyroid patients regardless be it Graves or Hashi's tend to have low levels. The general population also has low levels. I can explain more another time.
Also get tested for calcium. Many have low levels of that as well.
I don't think it's unusual for people with thyroid issues to be low in vitamin D. I'm currently awaiting results for vitamin D test.......
It would be helpful to have vitamin b12 levels tested. I have both Hashi and pernicious anemia and have to inject b12 every 2 weeks to keep my levels up.
There are other vitamins that might help you feel better but I don't necessarily think you need to get checked for them all. Those include vitamin C, magnesium, selenium, along with a good multi.
