Your TSH is high according to new AACE standards, and it is much higher than mine was. I suggest a TGab and TPOab for Hashimoto's. A shame that your doc isn't using the new guidelines.
I also suggest a FreeT4 and FreeT3 test to determine your current thyroid levels.
Any symptoms? Health concerns? Dry hair, depression, brain fog, fatigue, leg pain, foot pain, constipation, GERD, heartburn, chest pain, hives, dry skin?
or maybe hyper symptoms such as diarrhea, anxiety, shaky hands, racing heart, pounding in ears or ringing?

my TSH was 3.89 - it shows expected range - 0.4 - 4.4 - normal or not?
No, never had a thyroid uptake scan. What is your TSH? 'Normal' is changing. Mine was considered normal at a 2.69 and 2.74, but I found a great endo and he says 2.0 TSH with hypo symptoms and low frees is hypothyroidism.
The doctors should test your FreeT3 and FreeT4 levels along with your TGab and TPOab to determine if you have Hashi.
I suggest you post a new thread if you wish to know others' experiences with uptake scans.

Hi Tamra -
I havent had much blood work done. The only blood test I had done was a TSH and it was within normal guidelines.
I am schedule for a thyroid scan and uptake next week.
Did you have a thyroid scan and uptake done?
Thanks for the info!
Heather
My thyroid was just like yours last year. I had the biopsies, which was less painful than a dentist visit. All nodules are under 2.0 cm, so the biopsies should be able to reveal if there is any malignancy. Small chance of malignancy. Nodules are small and the solitary nodule is more of a worry. You have many nodules, typical of a patient with Hashimoto's. Swollen lymph nodes is also typical Hashi.
Did you have your TGab and TPOab bloodwork to determine if Hashi is the cause?
TSH, FT4, FT3 levels to determine your current hormone levels?
If so , please post the results.
My nodules are all pencil points now that I am on thyroid hormone, which usually shrinks the nodules.
If, on the rare chance, that the docs suspect malignancy, thyroid cancer has a VERY high cure rate.
