I just wanted to make sure they were labs after taking meds for 8 weeks so I'll know the timeframe when you get the new ones. They look really good, except that the TSH is still high.
Yes this is after 8 weeks on synthroid 25mcg...why?
When you get the new test results, it will be a lot easier to see what's going on. Be sure to get FREE T3, FREE T4 and TSH. Were the labs you posted in above in your original question after 8 weeks on meds?
well we thought the goiter was going down in size but i noticed today that it seems larger. As far as the depression etc... no it has gotten worse. She was diagnosed in the states but i am now in mexico. So i ordered the test and we have to make an apt for the endo next week.
I just dont understand the antibody test and results.
The only things that has changed with her was depression, leg pain, pain behind her eyes, and bad attitude. But other than that shes pretty normal. But back in dec i noticed her gland was severely enlarged, that is why i decided to check her. I have suffered from this for about 15 years but i always listened to the doc, but once she was labeled, i decided to take matters in my own hands.
Honestly she does not feel bad.
FT3 and FT4 look really good. FT4 is 56% of range, and FT3 is 62%.
TSH is still a little on the high side. That could mean that her levels are not quite high enough for her yet, and it could indicate a pituitary issue. TSH is the least important of the tests.
How is she feeling? Are symptoms going away?
Has her doctor suggested a slight increase?
TPOab (thyroid peroxidase antibody) is the antibody that indicates Hashimoto's thyroiditis. When TPOab is elevated, Hashi's is usually the diagnosis. Your daughter's is elevated. For some unknown reason, our immune systems start to see our thyroids as foreign and attack them. This causes the thyroid to stop working. That can take as little as a few months or as much as decades.
Has her depression, leg pain, pain behind her eyes, and bad attitude improved?
