I agree with gimel -- explain why thyroid replacement is not for everyone.
I have not read Mary Shomone's book "Living Well with Hypothyroidism", but I can assure you that Mary would not advocate forgoing thyroid med if your thyroid doesn't produce adequate hormones.
If your thyroid produces no hormones, you will die without replacement.
Please explain why you say that thyroid replacement medication is NOT for everyone.
MY TSH came back at 93. since i accidentally left both copies of the diagnosis with my naturopath, i can't remember what the other one was, but i think it was 3.0.
i did have the ultrasound on my thyroid - the left side was normal; there were indications of a slight infection with the right one.
thyroid replacement medication is NOT for everyone.
i strongly encourage anyone to read Mary Shomon's book -- Living Well with Hypothyroidism. also there is a wonderful doctor -- david brownstein in michigan - please go to his web site and read the info there.
Are the T3 and T4 tests for FREE or Total? And what are the reference ranges? Ranges vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
If those tests are for Total T3 and Total T4, they are considered obsolete and of little value.
Have you been diagnosed by a doctor, with a thyroid condition? You need to get tested for FREE T3 and FREE T4. You should also get tested for thyroid antibodies to see if you have an autoimmune thyroid disease, as well as have an ultra sound to determine if you have nodules on your thyroid.
There are no homeopathic medications that will control thyroid disease; you need to see a doctor and get started on thyroid replacement medications, if your Free T3 and Free T4 are too low.
