lalit38, the problem is that it takes a T4 meds change four to five weeks before the full effect of the change is felt. My fear is that you are feeling better now, after 15 days, but might be feeling a bit hypo after your levels finish dropping. Just pay attention to your symptoms, and don't be surprised if you have to adjust your meds again to something between 50 and 100 mcg.
flyboy786, some of us handle increases better than others. I have to move very slowly. Your increase was significant...from an average of 68 mcg per day to an average of 89 mcg per day. Your new dosage, 75/5+100/2, looks like a good compromise. I hope it helps with your hives. You will probably find that after 2-3 weeks on the lesser dose, you will be able to increase again without side effects. Good luck.
i think you are right about tinkering with the synthroid. It should be done in smaller increments. As my recenet TSH level was shown to have gone up, I went from 5 days 75mcg aqnd 2 days 50mcg to 4 days 100mcg and 3 days 75mcg and think that my recent (last two days) hives are a result of this. I have felt that Synthroid is the answer for me but anytime I get a bit aggressive with the dosage I get one or other side-effect(s). While my TSH was 3.8 up from 2.0 earlier, perhaps I should have not gotten too excited about such an increase in the dosage. I have had hives 5 times in the last 2 days and they are happening twice a day around the same time. It seems that at this rate, I will be getting the hives more frequently and the weekend just started. I will ease up on the dosage and go to 75mcg 5 days and 100mcg 2 days to see how this goes.

Your numbers have improved greatly. They look really good right now.
Why did you decrease your meds? Were you having hyper symptoms? The decrease from 100 to 50 mcg is probably too much. Decreases in thyroid meds have to be very, very small...usually 12.5 mcg (then wait six weeks, retest and reevaluate). I'm afraid your hypo symptoms are going to come back on 50 mcg.
Sorry for the delay goolaara
i was out of town

I am feelinng more better
The doctor dint say me the reason for hypothyroid
You haven't supplied the reference ranges on your T3 and T4 tests, so I don't know where you fall in the range, but your TSH has come down very nicely, and both your T3 and T4 have come up a lot. It looks like the Eltroxin is doing its job.
Congratulations on the weight loss! That's a LOT of weight to lose in just two months.
Has your doctor established a cause for your hypothyroidism? You mention that this is "temporary thyroid elevation due to bacterial infection". Were you diagnosed with either deQuervain's thyroiditis or "silent" thyroiditis? Were thyroid antibodies tested.
Sometimes i feel i have acute thyroditis
that is temporary thyroid elevation due to bacterial infection

I agree about the decimal point.
Are those results before you started taking Eltroxin, or are they current? Do you have reference ranges on your T3 and T4 (they're usually next to your result on your lab report in parentheses).
is your TSH a 150.0 or a 15.0 or a .150 the decimal is very important here.
Please specify?
Thanks
