how long can you go without meds until you could have a problem

I was having bad side effects from synthroid such as headache, palpatations, high blood pressure, dizziness, nausea.. so i wnt off the med until my dr could switch me to something else. I am nervous that i have been off for 2 days and my levels were 8.8 at the time I went off..  am i in trouble , I am to start my new meds levoxl half the  dose tomorrow , so officialy off for 2 days and back on a low dose, trying to see if it is my system regecting the drug or if it was a manufacturing problem. so I am starting tomorrow with just half the dose ...

You could be having side effects from some of the fillers in synthroid or your dose could have been too high to start.    I had a TT last year; started on 88mg then up to 100 mg and I thought I was going to have a heart attack.   Palpatations, sweating, anxiety etc.  Had to come back down to 50 mg and ease my way back up.  My TSH got a little high also but eventually it all worked out.  2 days off is not going to impact you that much especially if you Dr is putting you on another dose.   My Dr also prescribed the 50 mg of synthroid because it doesn't have all the fillers/dyes in it that the other mgs have.   I took 50;l then cut pills in 1/2 to get to 75 etc.  He wanted to see if that made a difference to me.   Good luck.   It can sometimes be a slow process.

A couple of days off your meds isn't ideal, but it's not going to set you back very much at this point, either.  Can you post your labs with reference ranges (these are specific to your lab, so have to come from your own lab report).  What dose were you started on?  What brand or generic?  What was your initial dose and what was it reduced to?
