That is why I posted all that about Free T3 and Free T4 and how important those tests are compared to TSH. If your doctor just relies on TSH, and you just accept that, you may never get rid of hypo symptoms. You need to take control of what testing is to be done, and insist on being treated clinically, for symptoms, by testing and adjusting FT3 and FT4 as necessary to relieve symptoms.
My next lab-test will be on sept, only TSH. i think my dr is focusing in my TSH, my last ft4 & t3 t4 test was oct 2010.
i take 150mcg for 3yrs. yes my last result in FT4 15.02 high my TSH level 2.30 my edoc told me its normal. & 150mcg is my regular dose.
how long you on it? i have same problem. have you checked your numbers lately , maybe a slight reduction would help? my numbers are slightly hyper.
Thanks for the tips. my regular dose is 150mcg.
you could be hyper or still adjusting to a new dose.try some melatonin it helps.
If your doctor resists testing you for Free T3 and Free T4, then you should insist on it and don't take no for an answer. When available, please post those test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report and members will be glad to help interpret and advise further.
A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels.. Symptom relief should be all important, not just getting some test numbers that make the doctor happy. I think you can get some good insight into clinical treatment by reading this link. The link is a letter written by a good thyroid doctor for patients that he consults with from a distance. The letter is sent to the Primary doctor of the patient to help guide treatment.
