Simptoms

I had RAI done two months ago, I already did some blood work a month after, and the doctor said that the hormones were going down , but i was still hyper. I will have my second appointment on the begining of april for the blood tests again. But the thing is, i am still having lots of anxiety, palpitation, and sometims inmsonia. So I called my endo and  he said it has nothing to do with  Thyroid. So I went to a cardiologist, and he did a Ekg, Ecogram and it did not show any problem with my hearth, he gave to me some betta blocker  for the high blood pressure( another sinmptom I am having) and palpitation and a natural medicine for inmsonia and anxiety. So has anyone had anything like that after 2months of  having RAI?

I agree with the two ladies above.

I have RAI more than three months ago and I still have heart palpitations.  Just recently, I had outpatient surgery and my rate was between 105-110.  The nurse asked if I was scared and I told her about being hyper and the RAI and she stated that was the reason for heart palps.

I go to my pcp just to get my heart rate checked and it still high.  My allergist checks my heart rate before giving me the allergy shots.

Sometimes, I get anxiety and brain fog so bad that I have to leave work.  A couple of weeks ago I left work two days in a row.  I could not focus and I had anxiety.

My endo dr put me on atenolol to help with the heart palps.

Hang in there.  I have learned more on this site than I have learned from any dr.

Welcome to the board .. I agree with Stella ... such a shame your Dr. didn't pass this info along to you rather than send you off to a Cardio but you had a good workup there, too which is good news with meds now.

Rose - it is common to have that anxiety - palps and insominia for years after RAI -

Not to scare you - but your doctor seems a bit insensitive. CAll they office Monday morning and asked if he/she can prescribe a low dose of Xanax. If they insominia is bad an Rx of Ambien may help you sleep too. Until you level out - these symptoms are completely normal and very common with hyper AND hypo patients.

Your physician should know that -

You should be drinking a ton of water since the RAI to flush your system - I hope he/she shared that with you too.
