Hi, I have had great luck with changing my diet, taking a multimineral that contains copper twice a day and Thydodine by TriMedica (google it) Thyodine is a colloidal Iodine preparation I use the dropper not the pills.
Most people will not comment here because Iodine is sort of controversial. If you try any Iodine supplement you should be sure to discuss with your doctor first and only take as directed.
I do not have straight forward Autoimmune thyroid problem. In my case I am both Hypo and Hyper so. Most people will caution anyone that is Hyper to stay away from Iodine . It is my belief that my Thyroid disorder was caused by heredity and an Iodine deficiency. I have done months of research on Iodine in particular, as well as other minerals such as copper that when deficient can also lead to thyroid disorders.
I am one of the people that has found great relief with a monitored Iodine/diet regimen as prescribed by a Naturopath. I know there are others here on the forum that have also had success with Iodine. You need to look at the whole picture of your diet and general health, I don't think that anyone would recommend that a person just start taking Iodine without first spending time researching, which it sounds like you have, but also seek the advise of a Naturopathic Doctor in your area.
In my case there was a night and day difference It changed my life, the brain fog is gone, I am not exhausted all the time. I am alive again.
Best of luck to you!
