is .9 TSH a reasonable goal?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 3 years ago--TSH was 17.5.  Now taking Synthroid plus Cytomel. At dose of 125 mcg Synthroid, 12.5 Cytomel my TSH was 1.6 I felt O.K. but kind of sluggish and I get muscle pain and some constipation.  When I increased to 137.5 mcg Synthroid, 12.5 Cytomel, I feel much better,no muscle pain.  Is that too much medication?  My endocrinologist is surprised I feel different with such a small change.  Says it's O.K. but we have to monitor because of heart risks.  Am I taking chances?  Please explain.

87.5 mcg/week is not a small change ,it can make a difference ,just keep your endo informed ,since if you are over dose then you go to hyper .
I want to add that if you  added 87.5 mcg/week after your tsh is 1.6 ,then the jump is too big , you might go to hyper, also monitor in addition to the tsh the ft3 ,ft4 ,these are as important as the tsh !
feel well !

As your TSH levels out , you will begin to 'feel' what is good for you.
Everyone is different.
