I had mine removed 5 1/2 weeks ago and I have a lump at the end of my scar.  The doctor told me to keep putting a good cream on it and rolling it between my fingers to break up the scar tissue.  I was unable to do this until about two weeks after the surgery (soreness).  It is finally going down.  He said I should be able to pull the skin completely away from my throat and this will make the scar dissapear sooner.  For me it is working.
Just be patient.  Good luck. Jo

sorry Marsha but yeh right...if it is not a perfect match now and the three different layers of your skin are not perfectly matched they will stay that way and you will get a xhatching of the different layers of skin whilst they try it knit together. Also if they are coming apart now that will leave a patch of scar that will always be a scar. I would get onto the Doctor online here and ask him. bestest

I went yesterday and had my stitches removed after a tt 1 1/2 weeks ago.  I still have alot of swelling in my neck above the incision which feels very hard to the touch.  It is so bad that my incision is coming back apart and the top flap sticks out further than the bottom flap does.  The doctor told me that it is common and not to worry about it.  I asked if there was anything I could do to make it go away faster and he said no, just to leave it alone and it would go away by its self.  So, if you find out any new info let me know.  I do not like it either.  Thanks
