Thanks for the input guys. I have for years had an overactive thyroid and just a couple months ago found out that it is slightly underactive. I would def talk to my doc before considering on taking anything for it. My husband and I are currently trying to conceive so I'm trying to balance things out.
I dont agree with kelp in any shape or form as it also has a history of mucking up the thyroid instead of helping.
In South Africa they have developed a herbal supplement for hypothyroidism using Kelp.
But only as a supplement and not a replacement for your meds.
As stated Kelp can assist thyroid issues.. I am not a fan of kelp at all. I do take iodine supplements but I go with better sources of the mineral
Kelp is taken to boost iodine. By and large, we, in the USA and most of the first world (and perhaps beyond), probably get too much iodine, especially if we eat pre-processed foods or eat out a lot. Do you have thyroid symptoms? Have you had any thyroid tests?
