What are the problems in future if the TSH level is high, like above 8?

I am a female aged 33. My TSH level is found to be more than 8 in a recent laboratory analysis. What could be the possible problems in future that can happen if the level still goes high?

TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many things that at best it is only an indicator, to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3.  TSH does not cause symptoms, it is only a pituitary signal to the thyroid gland to try and regulate output of thyroid hormone, based on levels of Free T4 and Free T3.   Doctors assume that TSH accurately reflects levels of Free T4 and Free T3, but scientific evidence shows that is not the case.

So please tell us about any symptoms you have.  Also, please post any other thyroid related test results, and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  If not tested for Free T4 and Free T3, you should make sure they are tested every time you go in for tests.  In addition there are other tests you need, that you can read about in the link included within the following.
