hi could you please tell me what underlying pathology means has my last hospital said symptoms are due to surgery and to the underlying pathology what does this mean thanks
The underlying pathology is the mechanism by which the disease became manifest. For example: after surgery, if you went Hypo then this is why you are suffering from hypo symptoms.
If they removed the thyroid, your symptoms would be from hypothyroidism and the diagnosis of either Graves or Hashi's.
