Changing from Synthroid.

Ga7
Anyone have normal TSH, and normal FT3,and FT4,being on brand synthroid and still have symtoms
I have been on the synthroid a year and feel worse since I had switch from generic brand. I feel like going off the synthroid for a week just to see if my symtoms of muscle pains and light headedness go away. Thinking of going to a different type med. Not Amour, for the T3 levels go to high and I get the jitters. So has anyone stop meds to look for side affects. Synthroid has a half life of 7 days, so it will not harm me to stop it for a bit.

Thanks, I have seen every doctor specialist, and all cannot find anything wrong. Neurologist, allergist, rheumotalagist, and been to ER a couple of times, I just cannot get rid of the brain fog and tiredness. Been this way since I have been on Synthroid. I had my thyroid glands removed 25 years ago, and took the med for about a month at first, and started feeling this way. I stopped the meds, and was taking a pill just when I thought I might have a problem,Once a week ??
I did this for 23years, and had all the energy I could have. I felt normal, then I started getting a little dizzy now and then so i ask the doctor about it and he did TSH test and found i was TSH 118, but other then the slight dizzyness i was fine ,then he started me back taking the meds every day and a few days of that, I really crashed, like my body was going to have to rebuild itself.. My last TSH was 2.10,and T4 1.9, T3 325, so he said I should be normal feeling, since I have been like this for awhile.
Im at wits end here.. Im 47 now and feel like 80.

It will take approx. 2 months for the pills to get fully out of your system.  Granted 6 1/2 days for just one pill. However, there are the other pills that have been stored up in your system. In other words its the accumulation of the pills, and for our body to complete get ride of the pills is like an domino effect, like knocking down dominos.  The domino effect takes approx. 2 months to get through its process.

By stopping thyroid meds. for a period of time might make you too hypo, bring symptoms worse than you already are experiencing. Plus, take longer for treatment to bring you back to normal and symptoms lasting for ever, depending if there is damage to your system.

If its not thyroid, you don't need to stop thyroid medication. Just have doctor check you for health conditions with your alike symptoms.  Regardless if your symptoms are thyroid or not,  you might have to treat each of your symptoms separately from each other and from thyroid.

The most important issue, is whatever you do, do it under your doctors knowledge and supervision.
