needing advice.

hi... i am a young women early 20 and in 2010 i was told i had thyroid disorders and i had radiation done and now i have graves disease and it has got me question is there a chance i can someday haves kids? i do want kids down the road but my body system has not been good and it has got my worried that i won't be able to have kids. some doctors says i can still but there still a good chance i won't be able to. and it makes sad but i know its life. i just wanna know what is the best and safest way to find out.

With most thyroid disease, as long as your thyroid meds are properly adjusted, there's no reason that you can't have kids.

However, I have some questions.  You said that your had radiation, which I assume was RAI (radioactive iodine) to "kill" your thyroid, is that correct?  Before RAI, were you hyperthyroid (overactive)?  Have you been on thyroid hormone replacement since 2010?

Yes I had it done and everything and I have a lot of radiontion still in my body cause of it
