Thank you so much for your advice.  No natural right now for me!

Well, the initial surge of energy most experience with starting T3 is not necessarily a good thing. Its actually a medicine induced hyper state that wears off as the body adjusts and hopefully turns into an alert but calmness feeling.  If the cytomel does not give you any negative side effects, maybe that's a sign that good side effects are on the way.

Changing to natural, no matter what the brand takes a while to get used to, that period is not initially comfortable either. I would not go that direction until this shortage thing is over, who knows what the outcome will be.

Yes but goolarra has given me advice w/ cutting it.   so I have been taking 1/4 cytomel pill which is about 6.25.  well sometimes.  I think I will wait on the vyanase until i can talk to my doctor again.   I don't get my labs for 1 1/2 more months but initial was ...  TSH  0.94   FT4 0.89  FT3  230   7 weeks on 50mcg synthroid labs were...  TSH 0.66  FT4 1.8  FT#  286.  so the doc thought i would need more t3.  but you know i was hoping to feel like everyone else that had a surge of energy.  It is to bad Armour is not the same.  I would of asked for that, the natural stuff everyone has good results.   Live and Learn!

I just read your other post regaurding cyto with synthroid, I see you take both. And you do take a lot of cyto per synthroid!

You should feel the cytomel at first. How much do you take, this is in addition to T4 like synthroid or levothyroxin (generic) correct?

You might want to post your latest lab results before the cytomel was added. Note: I am not a lab # expert, but someone will chime in. I have been on cytomel though.

About the ADD- remember  hypo affects your brain as well as every other organ. If I were you I would get a second opinion from someone that understands both ADD and thyroid with the possible overlapping symptoms of both.

Well he said I was ADD.  I don't know if I really agree.  I have a demanding job, kids, house, cat, bills etc...   like everyone else.  I told him I was fatigued at the end of the day more so then usual and it was hard to focus since my husband lost his job.  he said this will help w/ my work and home performance.  it is called Vyanase.  20mg he gave me. the lowest dose.   but i have been on the cytomel for 4 days now and I really haven';t noticed anything.    ?????  still scared to take.

Speed? Why?

If you never had cytomel before, its like speed for the first 2 weeks in your system!

Medicine is a scientific experiment on you body really! Unless your on a death bed, you really need to try one thing at a time to see what the results are.

Ask him about the speed, or maybe find another doc if you don't get an explanation. Common sense is always the rule, seems like you have that instinct.
