Extremely High TSH Levels

What happens to the body when you have extremely high TSH levels - 700-800.  Realizing that every person is different, what range is an extreme risk in an 8 year old female.  Our daughter has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and lab results were in the 700-800 range.  Has there been damage to her system?

Thanks for the input.  Unfortunately, I do know the lab references and yes- lab results are extremely high.  This weeks results now measuring 414 so getting better.   She is on her way to a long recovery.  I can not get answers on the possible damage this has done to her body and what other areas I should be concerned about.  Scramble right now for endo. s to get levels under control ( and it is a scramble).  If you come across any information that may help me red flag any other signs f health issues resulting from massive hypothyroidism - please let me know.

You don't happen to know the lab's reference ranges for TSH, do you?

I thought anything over 700 was so high it could not BE measured acurately.

Anything over 100 is considered dangerous, so if 700-800 is true, and you are not actually talking 7.00-8.00, she should be getting some very serious attention.

I have no idea what that sort of level has done to her organs. It depends on how long she has been climbing to that high TSH, I suppose. I'm sure she is quite ill right now, and I am guessing it will take a few weeks to get her anywhere near normal as far as her TSH, and several months for her to start feeling much better.

I am sorry she is going through this and hope the doctor(s) get it sorted out soon. Best of luck.
