I had a pretty good sore throat for the first 2 days but otherwise agree with previous posters. Good luck!
I had both of my surgeries on a Thursday and was back to work the following Monday. Pretty uneventful surgery, like hopeful mentioned. Just watch for numbness or tingling (tell them you need calcium - NOW if that happens) and watch for sneezing - *that* hurts. Only other thing I discovered is lifting my head off the pillow hurt! I'd have to roll over on my stomach and push myself up. Then again I'm a wimp. :-) When is your surgery scheduled?
I'm not sure what just happened. I did just reply. Anyway, in case you didn't get the first one. I had a TT on 12/18 for papillary cancer. It was a very uneventful surgery. I had no pain to speak of. I took Tylenol for about 3 days. Even in the hospital, which was an overnight stay, I didn't need pain meds. They sent me home with a script for percocet; filled it and didn't need it. You will probably have some driving and lifting restrictions, will need to f/u in about 7-10 days for suture removal; the sutures will be covered with small steri strips (I had 3 sutures); I still have some swelling right above the incision, but I have been advised that this is normal. I have had previous surgeries that were pretty huge (I donated a kidney in 1986 - before laproscopic nephrectomies; and a total abdominal hysterectomy in 2004). This was a cake walk. May I ask why you are having a TT and when? I am sure you will be fine. This will soon be a distant memory. This is a wonderful support forum. We are sorry for circumstances which have brought you here, but are glad to have you.
