OT: Foot Detox Baths?!

DLA
S-i-l gave me gift certificate so I went and had this done today.  Was  v e r y  interesting!  Still don't know what I think of it, though.  My s-i-l looks and feels great!  Has taken at least 10 yrs off her.  Says she has energy to burn.  I'd just like some energy to use, I'd be happy without the extra.

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into this good or bad.  Any personal experience would be great.

Well its  me again,i broke down and bought the ion foot bath today finally after a lot of research(4 years) and i even tried it 4 times before i made my mind up.I fractured my are 5 years ago and always had a dull annoying pain in that area, within minutes after the cleanse no more pain and this is 8 hours later.I also noticed i was in a way beetr mood and i was actually laughing out loud right after too.Of course the water changed but only went to and dark orange color but still will gung floating in it,all i can say is this is what i experienced.I going to keep using it and keep you posted.

You all have given me some great ideas. I am hoping this will help me with my morning fatigue, though I'm sure most of it is due to my low frees. Anyway, I thought it was worth a try. I've heard good things about the foot pads from my friends.

I can't find them on the Avon site anymore, so I found this website below and the pricing is pretty reasonable. Also, they come 10 to a pack, unlike Avon's six-pack. They also sell gluten free mixes, so I bought some blondie brownies, with no gluten or soy.

I am buying the machine tommorrow and will let you all know if i feel any different, but i dont think i will as  am pretty healthy to begin with. I did go for a blood draw yesterday and will get my yearly physically results back.I want to compare my blood tests before and after i use the ion foot bath machine.I do have high blood pressue now after just finishing a round of TX  for Hep C.Maybe this ion bath will get rid of any lingering TX drugs left over.

Yeah, the patches were in the regular avon book, near the back in the "wellness" products.  I've seen them on Avon.com too.  I do think they work as well as the foot bath, but not as quickly.  Does that make sense?  I guess what I mean is that I had to do all 3 sets of patches to feel similar to 1 foot bath.  The patches make me sleep - or have better quality sleep -- compared to the 1 foot bath that I did.  Honestly, for me, the quality of sleep was benefit enough to want to continue it.  I am always - always soooo tired.  These made me feel actually rested when I awoke -- I sure don't have that feeling very often!  I'm in Michigan, the books here had them in Campaign 15-16-17-18 (if I remember correctly) they're like $12.99 for a box of 3 pairs (6 patches).

Dac - I don't blame you for not getting another one done.  That is exactly the way I was feeling about it - even though it was a friend doing mine (I still paid her for it).  And, my head was saying something different than my gut!  If you google liver detox - the internet comes up with tons and tons of household receipe's to do it.  Good luck with it -- I hope it makes you feel better.

Well, was suppose to go back for another one today, but have talked myself out of it.  Just can't justify spending more money on me when I don't even know if this is legit thing or not.  My gut says there is something to it, but my head says differently.   *sigh*

Hope if you can all do it that it really works for you.  If it does maybe then I'll go back and do it.

Scarlet--can you tell me what the liver detox you did was?  Have epsom salt and olive oil already.  Maybe that wouldn't cost me so much money.

Is it in the regular Avon books or the wellness section .. like the Planet Spa products?  You think it works as well as the foot baths themselves?

sounds so interesting- i'm gonna have to try it!!!

I did once several weeks back?(timelines are a blur) do a liver detox- it was epsom salt drinks & one dose of grapefruit juice with olive oil. After having done this and seeing the toilet water- I can only imagine what the foot water looked like!!

LOLOL!  Too funny.  No, wasn't saying anything like that, I just sorta set there not really knowing what to make out of it.  Went in as about 80% nonbeliever and just sat and tried to take it all in.  Was trying to watch real closely to see if I could see my feet enough to see anything actually coming out of them.  Which of course you can't, b/c of all the gook on top of the water.  But when she wasn't looking would move my feet around trying to anyway!

Doesn't hurt at all.

The woman I was talking about with the really bad disease who almost passed out.  Couldn't remember what she had until I read your latest post.  It was MS.

I've seen it advertised in a number of places.  Chiropractic office, spa, salon, front yard of an individual doing it on their own, etc.  Check your local yellow pages for Ionic Foot Bath.  A woman I work with has one that she bought for her own use and for shows that she does (unsure the type, some sort of natural healing type shows).  Anyways, she just brought it to my house.  So, I didn't actually "go" anywhere and have it done.

I've heard of some pretty amazing things happening while using these.  A woman in my community who has a severe case of MS (or so they thought, they've run her thru every test imaginable for the past 10 or so years, maybe 15) - she began using these daily.  Apparently, they recommend every other day for so many days, then wait like 3 weeks and start the process again.  Well, because of her health issues, she was told to do it every day (don't know duration of days) -- she is walking (slowly, but still - out of wheelchair) for the first time in several years.  Dr.'s were baffled by it.

Does make your feet and legs tingly!  Kind of an undescribable sensation -- but doesn't hurt.  Maybe teeny pin pricks???  Oh, I don't know -- it doesn't hurt, but it is really strange!  Especially watching the water change!!!  Don't you think Dac?  I kept saying "holy ****!  what does that mean?"!!!

Actually mine was done in the back of a flower shop!  How'dya like that?  Why not?  Got married in the kitchen of bank, so things go that way for me.  zaksmom was talking about getting it done at the chiropractor.  Bet, though that a spa would do it.  Have never been to one.....so am not the best person to answer that question.

If you look in the ads in your paper there is probably something about it in there.  Or even in your phone book.  Is really new here, but as I said before I'm in the sticks!

Here they cost $35/session.  But I live in a really small place and only know of one place doing it.  So it would be cheaper if you lived some place bigger.  Maybe if I called a little farther away could find them....but then the cost of gas.  6 of one 1/2 dozen the other.

I didn't feel much of the charge just a little tingly.  She started it on 2 for 20 minutes and then to 2 1/2 the last 10.  Felt a pulling sensation in my feet and calves first 20 minutes then when she turned it up could feel it in my thighs.  Kinda  weird!  But not entirely bad.  Got me to thinking about....was that a chicken?  LOL

First thing that happened was these things that looked like little pieces of tobacco.  She asked if I was a smoker and I said,  "Used to be."  Then this white thick bubbly stuff was all over the top, and she said,  "That's yeast or candida."  I said, "Thank goodness, I'm sick of it.  You can have it!"  I have continual yeast infections.  Then the water turned BLACK!  She said, "Holy cow!!  I've never seen so much come out of the liver on the first time like that.  You must have really bad liver problems!"  I said,  "Some."  Okay, so this was a lie.  I do have some significant liver damage.  Have lied to my family and everyone about it after initially telling them.  At first I told them my enzymes were a little off.  But then I told them it went away.  little lie.  Don't know why I've lied about it.  Just get sick of telling people everything that is wrong with me.  And my family doesn't even believe it anyway.  So I just didn't feel like anyone knowing about it.  And haven't told anyone about it until now.  Think I was trying not to deal with it.  Yep, I'm DacChicken.

It really freaks me out to know that at 37 I already have "significant" amount of damage done.  But don't know what I can do.  Guess that is why I am really wanting to keep doing this foot detox bath.  But I don't want to explain to my husband why b/c he doesn't even know about it.  Guess I won't tell him if I do it, huh?

Any hoo, so about 1 1/2 hrs later my son and I were in town doing some shopping and couldn't even finish running my errands and shopping b/c my liver started hurting so badly thought it was going to explode!  KABOOM!  Called the lady and she said that it meant it was still detoxing and to drink lots of water to flush it on out of my body.  Still hurts today, but not as bad.

Oh, did I mention that I had really bad hot flash and got real light headed when all the black was coming out?  She said they have had one other person who almost passed out doing it and she has a really bad disease.  Maked me go UH-OH.

By the by, asked her about it getting rid of radiation after exposure and she said she has an older woman who's oncologist recommended it after her radiation for cancer.  Don't know if it truly does that or not, just passing on info.

Guess I'll be going back tomorrow.  Just have to see, you know?  At this point am kinda desperate to be well again.  So if they told me to put peanut butter up my nose and I'd be well, I'd do it.

Had another thought while I was out cleaning my Mom and Dad's pool earlier.  This year they got a new treatment thing so they could be chemical free.  It works with ionization!  Coincidinc?

dumb moment here-

Is this done at home or a salon/spa?

I can assume safely the sticky things from avon are done at home. But the soak?

Dac - the only patches that I tried are the ones from Avon Wellness (am too cheap to pay for other ones I've seen advertised) -- In MI they are like 12.99 for a box of 3 pairs of patches.  Made me sleep like a rock -- actually just ordered another box last week cuz I love them!!!!  They're kind of gross when you take them off though -- look like sticky tar.  So, if you're weak of stomach, beware!  They claim that the more you use them, the less the color and stickyness will be - as you'll have less and less toxins in your system.    Isn't it funny that the foot bath gave you the same reaction!!!  What color did the water turn with you?  Mine was orange with white foamy stuff and lots of black flecks (almost like grit) in the bottom.  I didn't have alot of feeling from the charge though, was able to have them turn it up to the highest setting (I'm also of the notion that "a little do a little good, alot do alot of good" -- when it comes to stuff like that - which can be good and bad!!).

Nyxie63 - The ones I've seen in Michigan run around $25 a session (some are higher).  Actually, the first person I ever talked to that had tried it did it with her daughter while visiting her in PA -- seems like she said she paid $40 for it.  The session is like 30 min (most places) -- theory is that depending on the type of toxins in your system the water will turn different colors and have different substances (flecks or foam, etc) in it when you're done.  Makes sense, everyone has a different ph level, sweat differently, etc.  Supposedly it cleans your blood too.  I did enjoy it, I'm just cheap!

I've been wanting to try those.  Most of the chiropractors around here offer the foot baths and we've got lots of chiropractors.  How much does a treatment usually run -ish?

OMGosh have I been peeing!  It worked almost as well as a couple of Lasix.

Boy, think I'm gonna have to get some of the foot patches!  Could use some really good sleep.  Wake up in the morning feeling like I haven't even been to bed, like this morning for example.   zzzzzz  Am so tired this morning all I want to do is go crawl in bed, but of course can't!  :-P

At the bank where my s-i-l works every one there but her is doing them and they are all addicted, say they never felt so good.  Think I'm gonna have to continue this to see.

I've seen those foot detox baths (ion charged) -- and have used them once.  Yes, they're very interesting.  A woman I work with actually bought one -- she loves it.  I didn't see too much difference in me after using it -- although I do think they work.  I had to pee all night long and the next day too!!  Was told that was due to toxins flushing out of my system!  I've tried the foot detox patches too -- those actually make me sleep better, I don't think I've ever slept as soundly as I do when using those (which is very strange).   I have heard from others about how the foot baths make them feel so much more energy -- sounds like they do work!
