Thanks for the info. Sounds like I need to stick with my levoxyl.
Armour thyroid is a dessicated porcine thyroid hormone that has a ratio of about 4 to 1 of T4 to T3. It is a prescription med so you'll need to see a doctor. You should be aware that not too many doctors will prescribe Armour, or its equivalent Nature-Throid, largely because of a mistaken belief that T4 meds are always adequate. This is frequently not the case, when a patient does not convert T4 to T3 very well and results in the level of the most important thyroid hormone (FT3) being too low.
What you most likely need is a good thyroid doctor that will treat you clinically, by testing and adjusting levels of FT3 and FT4 as necessary to relieve symptoms. Symptom relief should be all important. to me, a good thyroid doctor is also willing to prescribe meds other than just T4 types.
Are you looking for Armour thyroid medication? You would have to get a prescription from your doctor, then get the medication from your pharmacy.
I see you are in Ireland; I'm not sure it's available there.
