Thanks for the feedback. I'm keeping any old meds I have from now on. Glad I'm in good, paranoid, company.
stella5349: Hope that works out.
I just recently had a bout with my meds. Nothing was stolen - but my doctor changes my Armour and upped the dose - I of course ran out of the old supply early - and went in for a refill - but couldn't fill it for 3 days. I didn't hand in the new Rx until Sunday - but the pharm - gave me enough to get by until today.
I am confused b/c I am on a program where I will be increasing my Armour every two weeks by 1/4 grain. so I will always be short. I thought of filling both the new Rx and the old one I still have refills for - but the pharm said the old one will expire after I start the new Rx.
I am still confused - but I suppose I will figure this out.
I know the paranoid feeling of "running out" I am nervous and don't know if I will be out of meds by the end of the month.
I think that when you rely on a med such as synthroid (absolutely NEED it kind of drug) then this advice is invaluable! Great idea thypatient - always have an extra couple of days worth on hand (in your wallet) at all times.
Sorry for your trouble. They will have bad karma now. My cupboard is like a pharmacy stocked with various doses of synthroid, so I could get by for a few days if necessary. Good luck with your car repairs!
I thought I was the paranoid one but seems we are all realistic .. I posted mid Jan that I went to the ER with my 17yr old daughter thinking in and out .. I ended up 8 very long days with no Synthroid the first 48hrs!!!!! The pharmacy across the street took one look at me, my scar and how tired I was from the emotional toil of my daughter and her pain (turned out to be a defective gallbladder and had surgery) and figured if this lady is asking for Synthroid it ain't all that bad .. not pain meds .. and he handed me three without saying a word .....
C~
That is awful - I am so sorry to hear that!!! People are cruel - it never ceases to amaze me.
I never thought about keeping my med in 2 different places. I guess it's not a bad idea. If they start tweaking my doses, I guess I should save those old doses, too, hmm?
I hope they catch the jerk who broke into your car. Good luck!
In 1994 we lost power to the town for two weeks.
No businesses were open after the first few days.
I push my refills a few days early every month. I have Synthroid and Levothyroxine laying around in three different strengths. Some of them are two years old.
If the world ends, or the truckers go on strike, or the whole East coast gets nuked, it would be sort of nice to have a month's supply in the drawer.
Paranoid? Uh-huh.
But after that huge comet smashes into Kansas City, I'll have Synthroid. For a while...
LOL!!!
Sorry about your bad experience. :-(
