Everyone can see that my thyroid is swollen, but when they did a CAT scan they said everything was fine. I hope the endo doctor i am going to see helps more than the hospital or my doctor. I go on march 24, not october, i must of had something else on my mind when i was typing that. My work keeps telling not to go to work when i have problems and they always want to send me home. I wished I could see the doctor earlier than march. It seems like it is taking forever for it to get here.
i have a sore throat a lot and my neck hurts.i have had an ultrasound and they said everything was fine. i have a lot of trouble swallowing also.
did you have any pain in your neck where your thyroid is located? mine hurts most of the time. sometimes my throat gets sore (my doctor gave me an antibiotic and it did not work) and it gets hard to turn my neck from the pain. i also have a nodule on the right side of my thyroid, only ultrasounds and one cat scan have been done so far.
Hi. I had the same results as you. My thyroid levels were normal, but my antibodies (TPO) were high. I just went to the endo today and I learned I also have an enlarged thyroid gland (goiter). So I was diagnosed with hashimoto's thyroiditis. I have started taking meds to reduce the goiter. Good luck.
thanks to both of you every helpful!!
I have been having problems with my thyroid levels being normal and my doctor can not answer any of my questions. What I have learned from this website has been helpful. One thing that interested me was that even though your normals are fine in your blood stream they may not actually be in your thyroid. I will be going to a endocrinologist in october. Good luck.
Hi Lucy
Having high antibodies means that you probably have an autoimmune condition called hashimoto's thyroiditis, which causes inflammation of your thyroid gland. It can eventually lead to destruction of the gland itself. Sometimes you can have this and not have any problems with your thyroid, but usually at some point it cause problems in the thyroid levels, usually lowering them, but sometimes causing them to fluctuate between high and low levels.
