slight ear 'beating' at night, related to Armour or hypo?

Weird question. Has any one experienced a slight beating feeling in an ear at night (kind of like the feeling of your heart beating). Might be an ear muscle twitching?  In one ear. No pain when it happens.

Comes and goes after 6 pm. No ear ache, but there is pressure, 'pop' my ears all day. Just switched to Armour 3 months ago. Never felt this before the Armour. Can wake me from sleeping.

Does anyone else get this, never heard of it before.

Thanks

The only time I ever had that noticeable pulsating noise in my ear was when I was pregnant with my first child and I now know I was hypo but was undiagnosed. I had extremely high blood pressure. Just as a precaution get your blood pressure checked.

Right side and I'm on synthroid.

Now interestingly enough...my right ear gives me more problems than left.  My hearing is in normal ranges, but if I use an earplug or in ear headphone...that ear hurts me.  So I don't use those.

Wow! I am not alone. Just when things where getting better sleep wise, this starts up.

My pulse is good 68-72. High pulse and heart palps were present when I switched to Armour 3 months ago on the FULL dose from the get go (bad). Started Armour all over two months ago in step increments and now near proper dose.  Heart palps are very slight , pulse way better, but now 'ear beats'. So this may be the not so good side affect of the excess T3 in Armour. If so, bummer, cause T3 seems help other symptoms. But then some of you are only on T4? Hmmm...  I did not get this on Synthroid. Just hope the beats go away when my dose increasing stops.

I will see if the 'ear beat' times with my pulse, and read up on Audiologists (not sure what that is).

I WAS a left side sleeper, but that is the side I hear the 'ear beats' on! @#!!?X!!
Of course the left side also makes palps more noticable. Right side is fine (cross my fingers)!

****Question for all of you who replied****  Are your 'ear beats'  more notacable when sleeping on your left (heart) side?

Thanks all!

Me too. I get that occassionally. It definately is a pulse sound. I can't however remember if it started prior to Armour - or on it. Too many years have gone by now.

Are you checking the beats to make sure your blood pressure is OK?

Now that I think about it I kinda remember it happened more when I was on adjustments - increases of Armour. I think it's the bodies way of adjusting?

Yep I get it too. It's annoying when you've just found the perfect spot on your pillow,  and little bang bang banging comes along. I usually just role over the less comfortable but
silent side of my head. Yes it can keep me up. I always chalk it up to my pulse working it's way up the arteries, and into my head. Annoying, but livable by my standards and
the many other things for me to worry about.
You might see an audiologist, find out if he notices anything unusual. Mine started
long before I was diagnosed, let alone put on Armour. But Good Luck To You!

I get it all the time and I've never had armour thyroid.  You're simply hearing your heart beat.  There are nights when I lay my ear on a pillow, I literally cannot go to sleep.  It can be annoying....If you feel a pulse you'll find it beating along at the same little tattoo.  If you have plugged ears, it might be louder.  Sometimes I get a nerve doing that in my arm or leg...That's just about as annoying.
