it could be that you are going hypo do you take any medication? post your results when you get them and you should get some good advice. if you are hypo once you start on meds it takes a little while but then you should start to feel better good luck
I am having the same problem, except that when I was on 150 mcg of thyroxine I felt wonderful. The dr said that I was hyper (based on tests) and cut me back to 100 mcg. Now I feel as you do, and can barely crawl through the day. I just got up from a two hour nap, which I just hate to waste my time sleeping all the time! Did your doctor get a blood test that showed more than tsh? My doctor would have dropped my dose again, but this past time I begged for Free T3 and T4 results also. Based on the T3 and T4 he decided to not lower the thyroxine any further. I, too, do not know how to feel well again. You could try getting into the doctor's forum, but I have never been able to get a comment posted there. Hopefully, one of the more knowledgeable persons on this forum can help you. Also, you need to hold off on eating or taking vitamins/other meds until two hours after you take the thyroxine. How much thyroxine, or it may be levothyroxine did your doctor put you on after the surgery? Good luck to you. wandy07
I dont understand why smaller doses of thyroid meds arent utilized. There are many doses between 100mcg and 150mcg - 112, 125, 137. Maybe ask your doctor to try something inbetween. Small dose changes can make a huge difference in how you feel, so I imagine large dose changes (50mcg) can be the difference between freeling great and ffeeling awful.
And yes, you should absolutely have more than just your TSH measured.
Good luck.
CAn you post your last results?
Free t4 1.69, tsh.43, ca8.3, potassium 3.4. Currently on Levoxyl .112mg. I also was on levothyroxine .112mg even though Dr requested brand name. Generic is what lab levels were on. Also had a reaction to generic was falling asleep constantly kind of like I had narcolepsy, had a abd , chest& back rash now gone. Abd & back pain increase in reflux( not sure how much of this is related to generic) Have now been waiting 2 hrs after & taking a full glass of water. Was taking with prilosec but waiting 1 hr now. Thany You for all your replies. I really hope you can help me since I feel like I barely survive each day. It really makes me reget having the tt.
TSH=43 explains the fatigue. Call your endocrinologist, and have the dose adjusted.
I know this seems not important with everything that is going on but please have your vitamin and mineral levels check eg Vitamin D, Iron and the B groups. I would also start on a multi vitamin and mineral tonic it is such a simple thing but it has made a huge difference to a lot of people with being tired and unable to get their old zest back. bestest
