symptom relief

Thank you for being so kind to answer my questions in the past.  I have been struggling for almost a year now with extremely low TSH, somewhat high FT4, so far, normal T3.  My meds have been adjusted many, many times.  Last TSH was .040 with the lowest being .0050.  After 4 weeks on med adjustment my TSH went to 9.15.  Mostly over the last year the TSH has been very low and not really responding to med changes.  I had a biopsy which confirmed Hashimoto's Thyroiditis with lots of inflamation but my antibodies have been normal on blood tests.  For the last several months I have had heart palps and headaches.  I thought since my TSH went up so high those sympotms would go away but they upped my meds this time (instead of lowering my meds) and the heart palps and headaches will not go away.  I thought it might be my BP because I take meds for high BP.  I started taking my pressure regularly the last few days it it seems fine.  My heart rate however, has been from 72-112.  Could this be causing the headaches and heart palps?  Is it the thyroiditis?  How lond does it take for thyroiditis to go away?  I have been feeling this way a long time.   Dr. wants me to have a consult with a new enso about a possible thyroidectomy due to uncontrollable levels.  Could this be something other than my thyroid?  I am really still not feeling well.
Thanks!!

Thanks for the comments.  I feel the same way.  As much as I don't want surgery I am sooooo tired of this.  The heart palps and headaches are really bad and I just can't get the level right.   My most recent labs were two weeks agao when my TSH  had shot up to 9.15.  4 weeks prior my TSH was .040 and 4 weeks before that it was .019, then .0050. My T4 is not checked every time but 8 weeks ago it was 1 point high and my T3 was normal.  I have been reading about this conversion stuff and it is very confusing to me.  I just take one med and I have gone from 300 mcg down to 100 and back to 112......TSH has been as high as 66 and as low as .0050.  All in a little over a year.  I am 49 and I can't help but wonder what I will do about all this when I am 80, 90?? I feel like I have to watch this and be aware of my symptoms.  i don't want surgery and God has blessed me because I don't have cancer but I think I am ready to have it out.

Sounds like thyroid to me. What were your most recent lab results?
If your TSH went up to a 9.15, then you are HYPO which will make you very ill. If it was me and could not be regulated with levels up and down, and the Dr wanted to take it out I would do it. I wish I had done it long ago when I had the chance to.....then it is a matter of finding the right replacement dose instead of antibodies attacking my thyroid all the time, an d making me sick.  Just my thoughts. :)
