thanks for all the help.. i will ask for the FT3...
Your FT4 is a bit low, but the rule of thumb is that FT4 should be about midrange and FT3 should be in the upper half to third of its range. Your FT4 is in the middle third, so not too bad.
I think you should request FT3. Your FT4 isn't bad, your TSH looks good. If you're not converting properly, and FT3 is low, it would explain your continuing symptoms. Menopause doesn't help in sorting it all out, does it? So many of the symptoms can be the same. FT3 will tell you a lot.
I don't see any problem with your 88 mcg of Synthroid. There's no reason to believe that this couldn't be a proper dose for you, IF you're converting properly. Both my endo and I agree that my thyroid is effectively "dead" (from Hashi's) since both my labs and my meds have been stable for over a year. We think my thyroid is no longer contributing anything; I'm on 100% replacement, as you are. I take 75 mcg Levoxyl per day and no other thyroid meds...works for me...
If your doctor won't test and treat FT3, then you may never be well. My last endo would not prescribe anything but Sythroid. I found my new endo at this site:

Call the endo's office and make sure the doc treats FT3 levels, too.
I can't believe your low dose of medication when you have no thyroid. Crazy!!!
Many of us will not feel well unless our FT4/3 is within the top 1/3 of the range. Get your levels and post them here. You have the right to have copies of your paperwork. Once you get that paperwork, take the results to a GOOD endo, so that you can get proper treatment.

i also have gained another 10 pounds
.06-1.6 .. no he doesnt check FT3
What's the reference range on your FT4...it has to come from your own lab report as ranges are lab specific? Does your doctor test FT3 also?
