hashimotos thyroidits

hi my 8yr old daughter has just been diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis can any one tell me if there is a history of diabetes type1 and ceoliacs disease in the family is she now at a more greater risk of getting these as well the doctor could not answer my question and i have to wait a couple of months to see a specilast

yes she she has been diagnosed and no she is not on meds yet her thyroid levels are normal at the moment i
am waiting to see a specialest at the childrens hospital the waiting list is about 2months long

We who are autoimmune thyroid are more susceptible to other autoimmune conditions than the normal non-autoimmune population. Doesn't necessarily mean we will get any of the autoimmune condition, even if they might run in the family, it just means we have more of a chance.  The best we can do is to live a happy, stress free as possible and healthy nutritional life style, to build and keep a healthy  immune system, and to keep our weight in tack.

At risk, yes. At a greater risk? Hard to say.

Do not spend time worrying about what MAY happen. Deal with the disease in front of you. That will be enough.

I'm curious. She has been diagnosed. Has she been put on meds?
