Did you have a total thyroidectomy(TT)? I had a TT mid December and am still having problems getting the right thyroxine dosage. Im still getting dizzy, having issues with mind clarity, weight and being exhausted. My doctor has been getting me tested every 3 weeks and it looks like my correct dosage is not available in the form of 1 tablet. I am currently taking 100mg thyroxine 3 days a week and 4 days a week 125mg. Did you have any such issues?
Desperate
Did you have a total thyroidectomy or a partial? If total you will need medication. If only partial the left over thyroid usually copes without any medication.
If you had a partial it isn't common to be given any calcium and they (hopefully) would have checked your levels after surgery.
If you do (as above poster says) have any tingling or muscle cramping severely get some calcium immediately!
Most of my issues post TT were related to low calcium, which has mostly resolved (I am 3.5 weeks out). The calcium issue is easy to solve as calcium is readily available over the counter. Make sure to take some vitamin D with it for absorbtion, and definitely take the calcium and call the doc if you're having tingling sensations or muscle twitching. As for the thyroid replacement, are you having RAI without Thyrogen? If so, your doc probably doesn't want you on meds.
