Yes, vitamin D deficiency can cause hypo-like symptoms. Vitamin B12 deficiency can also cause extreme fatigue and other symptoms. Magnesium can help with muscle aches/pains; calcium can be calming.
Wish you the best of luck.
My mistake...it is 0.3-3.0
I am just going to try and supplement regularly. I noticed when I took my supplements some of the symptoms resolved. I know that my vit d is pretty low. I will have to find a good endo. :) Thank you for all of your help and support.
It might be hard to find a doctor who will be willing to treat, since your levels are "normal"; however, I'm sure a trial dosage of replacement hormones would make you feel better.
BTW - could you check the reference range for the TSH? I'm wondering if it should be 0.3-3.0 rather than 1.3-3.0.
Since far too many doctors go by TSH, I'm afraid that you be the clincher here.
LOL! I have a friend who is also a fellow thyroidian. I am sure she has some great info for me on Endo's in Houston. Do you believe that I should be on something to assist my thyroid levels? I'm starting to feel like I am not even sure what I should do. :/
Maps are too small, don't they? LOL
Sorry, it didn't look so far on the map. Forgot it was Texas.
Houston to Austin is approximately 160 miles/3 hr drive.
I have the name of a member recommended Endo in the Austin area. That would be the closest good thyroid doctor that I know. Could that work for you?
I will be headed to Houston, TX.
Where in Texas will you be going? Maybe we can steer you to a good thyroid doctor.
Hello~
Funny...not so normal labs. :) That's what I tried telling my doc, that they may be within range but not optimal for me. She didn't give a hoot! She refuses to put me on any meds for it as well. I do have an endo who say's this is normal and she feels that meds aren't an option. I am counting down the days when I take off to Texas...hopefully there is some help there for me.
Normal labs? I don't think so!! Yes, they are "in range", but I'd say they are anything but "normal" because they are so low in the ranges. Many/most doctors believe that anything in range, is okay and that's not the case for most of us.
Many of us find that we have to have FT4 at least mid range and FT3 in the upper 1/3 of its range. Because you still have a variety of symptoms, I'd say this may be the case with you, as well.
What med are you on, at what dosage? How long have you been on that dosage? Looks like you could certainly benefit from an increase; however, increases must be done in small steps, in order to avoid adverse reaction.
