Thyroid Nodule..Should I be concerned :-0

Hello,

At my anual GYN appointment my Dr. felt a small lump on my neck and sent me to get an Ultrasound of my Thyroid to check for nodules.  My Blood work came back good, but they did find a small single Nodule on the right side of my neck mesuaring 1.2cm.  I can't get an earlier appointment at the endocronologist until the 11th on Nov. I guess my question is should I be concerned.  I've read about the Nodules and how most are benign, because my lab work was fine and I don't have any  hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's thyroiditis, should I be concerend that this is a malignant type and could be cancerous??

very confused, and not trying to lose any sleep over it, ..any adivse?

Thanks!!

Also, my biopsy came back inconclusive - which most do - so don't be alarmed.  Go with your gut feeling on this.  If there is any slight chance - better to have it out then it becoming cancerous.

Wow - that is how I found my nodules - at my ob/gyn yearly appt.
Had my thyroid removed Oct. 8th.  I am so glad that I did - it ended up being cancer!!!
I had three solid nodules - none that were huge.  One was bigger than the others - that was the one in question.  My blood work was even pretty normal.  The other nodule on the other side ended up being "hot". Everyone kept saying - oh no - you have nothing to worry about.  Even the surgeon pretty much said - oh it won't be cancer....  boy was he shocked when the results came back.
I am so happy now!!!!
Best of luck with everything!!!

Also, results took three days. It usually takes 2-7 days.

I have learned not to settle for an endo who does not listen to me and explain. I don't know if your insurance covers any other endos, but here's a state-by-state list of endos recommended by their patients: http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/

My Fine Needle Biopsy was honestly less painful than a trip to the dentist. Nobody came with me. I did not need anyone to drive me home. She put some stuff on my neck that numbed it, then she actually shot my neck up with, I guess Novacane like the dentist uses.

It wasn't bad at all.

I did have those TSH, FT3, FT4 tested I did not however get a chance to get them since they sent them directly to the Endocronologist.  I saw him on Monday and we are scheduled to do the Sono Guided Biopsy next Monday.  Unfortunatly the endo and the radiology place is not that helpful on explaing things I get the feeling of being blown off when I ask a question, the Endo didn't even take the time to explain anything about this Nodule thing, he was just like "Here's a brochure on what you have, I'll see you after the Biopsy"  Needless to say I am frustated and hate the fact we opted for that HMO instead of the PPO this year, this Dr. may be good but he can sure come across as an unproffesional jerk.

I understand that this is probably not worrysome however I have no idea what to expect.

Do you know what I should expect at the biopsy.  I'm just really nervous... I hate to Google, the worst always shows fist :-(

Most nodules are benign. The solitary nodule has a slightly higher risk of cancer. Thyroid cancer has a very high cure rate.

Many people live their entire lives with nodules, not even knowing they have them.

It's just a common thing.

Also, when you say your labs are fine, do you mind posting those scores? My labs were fine, until I requested my antibodies for Hashimto's, and those tested positive. You have had the Hashi antibodies tested (TGab and Anti-TPO), right? TSH, FT3, FT4?
