thyroid nodules
I have multiple nodules, biopsy came back benign ,but surgeon wants to do a partial removal of the thyroid. I was reading about laser removal of the nodules, but Spokane wa doesn't have any. Does Wa. state have any ent doctors that use laser to remove nodules. I have never had general surgery, it scares me. I was told there is no rush to have the surgery.
If nodules are stable , benign, and are not bothering you, the surgery is optional; the laser removal of nodules is not widely approved yet. in the past the ethanol injection into the nodule was tried and was found to be most efficient for cystic nodules.
what are the size of the nodules you have and did they say why they wanted to remove them, I have a solitary nodule 2.5 x 2.0 x 2.3cm. it was found after a car accident last year. I'm confused about what is next.
