TSH, T4 and T3 Levels

I had a total thyroidectomy on October 24, 2008 for papillary carcinoma.  I finally had and completed RAI on Febraury 24, 2008.  I am on .112 mcg.  I feel terrible - so much brain fog, can't concentrate or stay on task and I'm nauseated.

AS of February 24 my TSH is 60.519, thyroxine (T4 is 6.9) and my triiodothyronine (T3) is 79,  Should I be asking for Armour.  What can I expect from my endocronologist whom I see on March 9th?  You're help would be most appreciated as I am dealing with, at this very moment streptoccocus areaosu (sp?) endocarditis and chronic lymphocyttic lukemia.  Researching this my own is just not an option.  I am seriously all researched out and I need som good advice on feeiling better.

Thanks in advance

Thank you so much for your response.  Yes, I am taking 112 mcg.  I am so glad you told me about taking other medications with the Synthroid - I was consistently taking my Atenonol with the Synthroid and no one ever said a thing to me about not doing this.  I knew about the not eating for an hour a so - it's never been a problem for me as food in the morning and me don't agree. I see my endocronologist, only my 2nd visit to him thus far,  on Monday 3/9 and hopefully he will get me straightend out.  He saw me a month before the RAI and did say that the 112 mcg of Synthyroid was not enough and that he would definately be increasing my dosage.  I do wonder however about the T3 being so high.  Can you please explain to me in layman's term how Synthroid alone is supposed to regulate TSH, T3 and T4.  Doesn't Synthroid regulate T4 or does it work like regulating T4 regulates TSH and T3.  I just can't seem to understand this and I need to.  Any help would be appreciated.

Good grief! You poor thing! First of all, I think you need to be on a much higher dose...your TSH even after these months is still crazily  high.  I presume you are taking 112mcg ...and not the .112mcgs you mentioned! I hope that was a typing mistake! Most people start at 100mcgs and either go up or down depending on their own bodies.
You must also be aware, that you must take your thyroid medication then wait a minimum of one hour before you eat. Taking any other medications in the four hours after taking the thyroid meds can seriously affect the efficiency of the thyroid medication.
Armour may or may not work in your case. Armour has had some serious problems in the US and UK. In the fact it is harder to come by.
Your other problems will not effect the taking of the thyroid medication.
Good luck!
