thyroidectomy or wait and see??

If given the option should one go with a total thyroidectomy or wait and see approach with this senerio??

If you have you nodules, and can not balance your meds, will having a removal of the thyroid quit the the hypo/hyper/hypo cycle??

Anyone with this expierence?

I have hashis, started out hypothyriod, got on meds 100 synthroid, went hyperthyriod on meds started having heart issues, had to cut meds back to 50, but now I am back into the hypothryiod symptoms.  In about a week I go back into up the meds to 75, and then in another 6 weeks, try and go back up to 100.

I was just thinking that if you take the thyriod out of the equation, it would be easier to balance the meds because it wouldn't be spitting out extra hormones on top of my meds.  My doc says with hashis that happens a lot because some times the dead tissue and still put out hormones on occasion.

Since I have been on the 50 synthyriod I have developed a tight pressure on my chest, and nasuea that isn't going away.

You need to post more.  People with like experiences will respond  But what does the "hypo/hyper/hypo cycle" mean?  Graves, Hashimotos?  Can you post test results and/or a dx?
