You need to get your thyroid levels to an adequate state prior to conceiving. Adequate thyroid hormones are essential for the growth and development of a fetus, especially, in the first trimester, because the fetus's thyroid will not have developed and it must depend on you to provide the hormones it needs.
What are your actual thyroid hormone levels? You should be getting tested regularly for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. Please post your most recent lab results and be sure to include reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
