I'm not on thyroid meds.  I have alot of energy, no fatigue, very regular digestion, BMI on lower end of normal w/ low normal body wt.  My symptom is EXTREME hair loss; I also had a previously low Ferritin and Vit D which were recently corrected.

You do not mention if your on thyroid med or not?

And how do you feel?

You should look for a doctor that treats by frees not TSH- they are out there and sometimes just a common sense GP will do this. Endos- not as common, TSH is usually there golden rule, to bad for their patients.

TSH is important as a guide, but free T3 and Free T4 are more important to follow if your have hypo thyroid symptoms. Some people do have TSH levels that do not correlate "normally" with T3 and T4 levels. And we dont know why.

Just an oservation of mine, not a fact that I know of  - TSH seems to be controlled more by FT4 levels when not on replacement hormone. When taking replacement hormone TSH seems to be driven from free T3 levels.

But as stated above, some (not very many) just have a TSH that really makes no sense, so these people go by frees only.

I have seen labs like yours here before.

TSH 2.2 and FT4 1.1.... I'm confused by the low FT3 as other ranges are normal.

Free T3 Is the amount of available T3 thyroid hormone circulating in your blood.

T3 (triiodothyronine), the active hormone, is converted from T4 (thyroxine), the storage hormone,  mainly by the liver. The 3 and 4 represent the number of iodine atoms per tyrosine molecule. Not everyone converts T4 to T3, that can be a problem that T4 meds alone will not 'fix'.

When you see tests that are just called T3 or T4 that is referring to the total amount of hormone. The problem with that is most thyroid hormone in the blood is attracted to proteins and is not usable or at least is not as easily absorbed by the bodies cells receptors that need to use thyroid hormone. Think of cell receptors as a key hole. T3 is a key with bubble gum stuck on the end. Free T3 is a clean key that fits in the key hole.

So to answer your question, your free T3 is under range apparently from not converting well. It is not known why some do not convert. Their livers usually test in good condition too. I bet your TSH is high normal (close to hypo)?

Low T3 often results in muscle aches and pains and digestive discomfort.

Post your FT4 and TSH for comments / further help.
