Hi...I will agree that it could be Intra-cranial hypertension also known as pseudotumor cerebri, or it can be chiari malformation....the symptoms r similar...a Brain MRI should be done first to rule out the chiari herniation as the LP can cause it to herniate more if drawn too quickly.
Many with the above conditions also do seem to have autoimmune thyroid issues, so having ur thyroid checked is a good idea as well.
U will also want to have ur vitamin levels checked too...B12, D, magnesium, and potassium....
Good luck and do post an update to let us know what u find out.'

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Based on the information provided by you, I think you are suffering from ‘benign intracranial hypertension’(BIH). This happens due to impaired CSF absorption. A generalized throbbing headache worst felt in the morning and last thing at night. This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. You have a similar headache. This headache is often accompanied by various neurological symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of vision, loss of hearing etc, all of which are temporary.
You need a prompt evaluation by a neurologist. Hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend you get investigated for. These can precipitate BIH. A spinal tap is a must both to diagnose the condition and to treat it. Take care!
