Mild concussion

Four days ago I hit the right side of my forehead, frontal lobe on corner of hard wood door.  It swelled up immediately and iced it for two or so hours then went to bed.  Day three I started bruising around outside of my eye and became tired and confused a little.  My dr. Tested me and said it was mild concussion and to take it easy.  Does anyone know what signs I can look for if I'm to be getting better.  I'm still tired, irritable and restless.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Below the skin of the face there is a common space extending from your forehead to your cheek. Hence if you bump your forehead, the water, blood and chemicals and cells that collect as a result move to lower areas like your eyelids, cheek etc. The color changes that occur are also normal. The redness turns to reddish blue tinge and then yellowish depending on the stage of healing. Please follow your doctor’s advice. Some pain is expected. If it is unbearable you can take over the counter pain killers. If you have balancing problems, vision problems, fainting attacks or vomiting, then immediately consult your doctor. Don’t worry! You will soon be your normal self. Since you are tired, irritable and restless, get your blood pressure checked. Take care!

You just really need to rest and avoid too much stimulation( ie tv, computer, phone). If you can, avoid driving until you feel better. If you ever feel nasueous, get blurry or changed vision, or have unexplained fainting or extreme dizziness go to the ER. You may need to get a CT to check your head for other problems. Good luck to you.
