Had craniotomy last year and bumped my head last week....should I do something?

I had a TBI late last year, had a craniotomy and am now recovered.  A week ago I bumped my head on something and it was sore to the touch for a few days and I had a headache.  I still am having a dull ache sometimes.  Should I be doing anything about this?  I have not seen doctors for the head injury in months and I don't think that the ones that I saw plan on seeing me anymore. I know that the surdeon I went for a follow up check up to many months ago didn't do any tests on me...he just talked to me....so that's useless.

I've changed primary care doctors since then and he's not a very experienced doctor (he's young)

There was a rehab doctor who ran the rehab place but rarely saw me.

I would think that it would have to be a neurologist, but I don't know any.  I would think they would need an MRI.

Do you think that this is necessary?

In my original TBI (the result of an accident) I had a huge hematoma on my brain and I bled a lot (this is from my surgeon) and it almost killed me so that's why I wonder if I should do anything yet.

U would call where u had them done, so if u went to the Hospital for the MRI's than yes, call and request copies on CD along with the reports.

U deff need a Neurologist(NL) as they do the dxing...and the NS...does the operating....u should still be able to call his office for a referral...but ur PCP should be able to help u with that as well.

Maybe I should call the hospital where he works for it, do you think?

Last time I called his office, they acted kind of like why am I calling them to see if I should come in for a follow up since he's a surgeon.

I don't have copies of the MRI's.  The hospital might have them maybe.

I would rather go to another Neurologist than go to the original.   Should I just ask the hospital?

Hi...call ur original NS and advise him of ur situation...ask him what he feels u should do...u r right that u r no longer under his care, but, he/she may refer u to a NL that he/she does work with.

Do u have copies of ur original MRI's?...if not it is best to have them for comparison.

Call ur dr.
