Ive been reading that parasites Can live in the brain. Doesnt there have to be a parasite in the brain in, in order to produce a cyst? I know cysts can develop elsewhere in the body without parasites, but how often do cysts occur in the brain?

I have been experiencing neurological problems recently, starting about a month ago. If i had a cyst, my neurologist would have seen it on my catscan. Its been a month since my catscan, and now they are looking at my EEG, to find abnormal brain activity. Which would most likely be caused by something genetic, like Multiple Sclerosis, or Migraines. Both of which, my doctors are taking into consideration.

You say a parasite can live in the brain. Why is that true? I have to ask because...

When i read the symptoms of brain parasites, they seem to mimic multiple sclerosis, in the form of seizures, loss of vision. Similar to what the poster above you said.

Hi,
thanks for query.
A parasite cannot live in brain, only some cyst do. They are acquired via uncooked meat like from pork. It reaches sufficient size to produce symptoms. A live parasite can not grow in brain.

Wishing you good health.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
O, nothing like that happens usually. Depending on what it is—it can multiply, form a cyst, get enclosed in an area and die. If it multiplies or forms a cyst, it can cause neurological symptoms. If it dies and is enclosed in a small area then it may not cause any symptoms. Even small cysts do not cause symptoms.
If you are suspecting one or are diagnosed with it, please consult your neurologist. Take care!
