Hit my head today, still have a headache?

Well, I work with dogs and today I hit my head on a kennel door pretty hard, when a dog got out of the kennel and I was putting him back in.  It was pretty hard, but I don't THINK it was hard enough to cause serious damage or a brain injury.  It hurt quite a bit for a few seconds, but then I was okay, and I was able to drive, eat, and continue on with my daily activities.

This happened about 5-6 hours ago though, and I still feel like I have a headache on and off.  But, I have not experienced any nausea, disorientation, dizziness, or blurred vision.  So is this normal?  My mom said she really doubts hitting my head on a door would cause serious damage.  I normally wouldn't worry so much about this, but I've become a hypochondriac as I've gotten older (well, I'm only 20 but yeah).  Also, what happened to that actress Natasha Richardson a few years ago freaks me out too.  It was like she fell while she was skiiing, and got right back up, laughing and joking and feeling fine, and then she suddenly had to be rushed to the hospital and died just a bit later.

So should I be worried?  Or go to the urgent care clinic?  Or is it really not worth it?  Again, all I have is a headache, no other signs.

Have you had your son checked out by your doctor? I'd certainly be concerned about the ongoing dizziness and headaches.
Hope your son recovers well, and I hope his coach is as concerned as you are!

I completely understand how you feel! I hit my head a month ago pretty hard but not hard enough to cause any serious problems I think. But I have also become a hypochondriac and was worried so I went to the doctor only to be told I was fine and just take ibuprofen since my head hurt. It hurt for a week and a half! So if I were you, I'd take ibuprofen and if it worries you enough go to the doctor. I know how you feel. But I think you should be fine.
