MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Since you have temperature fluctuations the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia and vasovagal attacks.
There are many other causes of dizziness. It is difficult to comment without examination. I am just enumerating the possible causes. You can discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.
Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis or compression of cervical spinal nerves. All these cause dizziness when you get up from lying down position or when you change position that results in a change in the level of your head. Cervical spondylitis and ear problems also cause dizziness on changing the position of the neck.
Certain types of epilepsies and seizures too can cause similar symptoms. If you have an accompanying headache then you must also look at benign intracranial hypertension. Heart problems too should be ruled out in your case. If all other tests are normal, maybe an ECHO should be done to rule out mitral valve prolapse. Patent foramen ovale too could be the cause (commonly known as hole in the heart). It can also be chronic fatigue syndrome if all other causes are ruled out. A brain lesion too can cause dizziness but often there are other neurological signs such as numbness, tingling, loss of function of a limb etc.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Well, looking back over your post, I also wonder if you have an infection of some kind given the diarrhea and if you've had fever intermittantly- did they check for that?  And with headache and dizziness if you get a fever with it, have they specifically ruled out spinal meningitis?

May I suggest you get a home blood pressure monitor from your local drugstore?  They are relatively easy to use and might supply vital information if you track that and show it to your doctor.  They should not just dismiss high blood pressure to anxiety if they have not been monitoring it to see if it is high when you are not feeling anxious.

If your blood pressure is very high when you are having one of the dizzy spells and with your headache history & if your pulse is also going very fast (over 100 while resting), you may want to get a rare tumor called pheochromoctyoma ruled out.  Some say the best test for this is plasma free metanephrines, a fasting blood test where they measure the inactive metabolites of adrenaline and nor-adrenaline.

You should get at least a brain CT scan, given your symptoms of migraines and dizziness, but preferrably MRI (less radiation).  They should be ruling out brain tumor, etc. as the cause of your symptoms.

Also, a lot of dizziness can stem from an inner ear problem, so yes, they should be sending you to an ear, nose and throat doctor for testing to rule that out if they don't find the answer elsewhere.

And re: the endocrinologist- the fact you are having a temperature problem makes me think endocrine hormones may be something to check, unless you have an infection.

Yes, your dizziness, sweating and migraines could be indications that your cardiovascular system should be checked.  For instance, are your migraines being caused by high blood pressure?  If so, they should be prescribing you a migraine preventative in the form of blood pressure medication.  Are you dizzy because your carotid arteries are clogged with plaque or your heart is not pumping adequately?  Things like that should be checked out!

When you get these dizzy turns, have you ever taken your blood pressure to see if it was very high or very low?
Have they done an MRI of your brain for the migraines, dizziness, etc.?
Have you been to an ear, nose and throat doctor for vestibular testing?
Have you had any endocrinologist order any hormonal testing on you?
Did they check to make sure you weren't iron deficient, including ferritin (my doc says the best iron indicator is ferritin), as low iron can cause dizziness and headache?
Has anyone checked to make sure your cardiovascular system is functioning properly?
