I had a serious brain injury in november 2005, ever since i have been having a problem starting to urinate, i do not no if this is because of the injury or i ave damaged my internal organs, I also have problems maintaining an erection.
Traumatic brain injury can have long term effects which occur many years after the injury. These long term effects include male erectile dysfunction also.
I would suggest you to please consult your neurologist about it. Do keep us posted!
The symptoms you have described may be due to some form of injury to your lower back nerves and I believe the previous brain injury is not the sole cause of the problem.
There could also be some form of injury to the nerves originating from the lower back spine that controls urination and erection. Problems with the glands inside the pelvis such as the prostate can also give rise to these symptoms.
First, I suggest you have your prostate checked by a rectal examination, and discuss with your doctors about tests such as a voiding cysto-urethrogram to assess if there are anatomic or functional problems with the bladder. Regards.
In this special Missouri Medicine report, doctors examine advances in diagnosis and treatment of this devastating and costly neurodegenerative disease.
