Question, just in case

So this past month AF came early (UH-gain) and I was pretty sure what it was, but when I told my friend she said, "Oh, if it's early, it could be implantation bleeding!"  I was pretty sure it wasn't, but after she said that I was all paranoid about using a tampon.  I have very sensitive skin, and as a result, pads and me do not mix (not sure exactly what it is about them), so I ended up wearing the "period" underwear, then bike shorts, then pants to work (yes, it was gross).  I've decided to suck it up and get some pads just in case, but I was wondering: if I had implantation bleeding, and thought it was AF starting (like starting right as I noticed the bleeding), and used a tampon, how bad would that be?  Should I just not use tampons for a while, or start with a pad, then switch to tampons when it becomes clear that AF has come?  I'm hoping this question is irrelevant, of course, but I really dislike dealing with those rashes that I get from the pads, but I'll deal with it if it's a big enough risk.  Thoughts?

Thanks everyone!  Yeah I thought it was the whole TSS thing...I had just heard somewhere not to use tampons when you're pregnant.  But I feel better now, though of course I hope not to need this info :)

Tampons are generally not a problem. It's only a risk of infection they're worried about. If your hygiene habits are ok then u have nothing to worry abt. I hate pads too!

They say not to use tampons but I don't think it's going to hurt anything. Not sure why they say not to use them...probably something to do with the cervix or risk of infection or something.
I didn't ever use tampons until I knew for sure that it was AF, instead I would just use pads.
I've seen online about cloth pads before. Not sure what they are called but I know I've seen them before. You can buy them in all sorts of colours and stuff...I believe it's for environment conscious people. Try to see if you can look em up!

I don't think there is any problem with using a tampon. I thought I was getting af when I was pregnant with my son (I had what I thought was a light af so I didn't know I was pregnant) and it wasn't a problem. They say you can have sex when pregnant so I don't see why a tampon would hurt.
