ttc with irregular cycle

Hi Everyone,

I am new here so this is my first post. Any ladies successfully conceive rather quickly wtih an irregular cycle? My husband and I have been trying for 2 months, which we know isn't very long. We, like everyone else, were hoping it would happen right away. I am sure my irregular cycle doesn't help much, but it just becomes very frustrating when AF arrives, and of course this month arrived on time!! Just looking for some advice from anyone with irregular cycles.

Thanks!!

hey ladies another option is to take hormone level bloodwork through out the month to see what vitamins you may be missing that causes the irregular periods. my doc said that if you are irregular that makes it harder to get pregnant.  i have taken 1 blood test on day 5, 1 blood test on day 19 then i will be taking another on day 26. then i will meet with doc one week later to look at my hormone levels during the different times of the month. this is also to help me stop from mid cycle spotting (always 1 week before i am due, it is SOOO annoying). has anyone else done that?

I agree with Lost_in_Love.  I ovulate late (sometimes Day 26!!).  So it's best to BD every other day from CD 10 to CD 30 or until your period arrives.....if it does..good luck to you!

Hi, I have the same problem. I know when I first started TTC some things confused me a bit... First thing, Cycle Day 1 (CD 1) is the first day of your period, not spotting, but some flow, and if you are technically supposed to ovulate 14 days before your next period, so if you are having 30-42 cycles, you may ovulate on days 16-28. That is quite a long window, so what I would recommend is to start using Ovulation Prediction Kits (OPKs) starting on day 13, you might have to buy two kits, but it's worth it - and this way you are sure not to miss your Ovulation Day! When you get a spike in your LH surge, you will be ovulating soon. SO Boogy Down!!! I really hope this helps you, and if you keep doing this religiously for a few more months with no success, you should make an appointment with your doctor. Best of luck to you, SSBD!!

Ok You sound a little bit how I was for my cycle! What I did do hit ovulation was I started to BD around CD 10 and would go on through to about CD 17 or 18. What happened for me was that I would get Ovulation pains usually so it would be a bit easier to pinpoint but not always. I also kept my eye on my Cervical mucous...this also helped me to know my fertile time. Try those things first and see what you come up with. It's also good to track your cycles to see if there is maybe a trend or average day that you may be ovulating. A word of advice...if you track it online, don't go by what day the trackers tell you for the day's you will be ovulating...you aren't regular enough for it to be accurate. If you just came of birth control...it may take a while to get regular....it took a year for me to actually start becoming regular and I still wasn't as regular as women can be.
Good luck!

So you get a period every month? Do you ovulate every month? If you do ovulate every month or between 42 days than you should have a good chance to get pregnate soon. If your not ovulating every month than you might need some help from firtilty meds. otherwise it can take a long time for you to get pregnate. The best thing for you to do its to talk to your dr. Your dr will work out a plan for you. And start you on vitamins. And can run tests to make sure everything is working properly. Hope this helps and good luck! Baby Dust!!!

My cycles range from 30-42 days. Generally lasting 5-6 days each.

When you say irregular what do you mean? Do you get a period every month at least? If so...how many days does it range? I was regular enough to have a period every month but irregular to the point that it was never the same amount of days each time.
Just need a couple more facts to maybe help ya out!
