Hello,
Spotting in between periods can be a result of implantation bleeding particularly when you are trying hard to conceive. This spotting that you are having can be implantation bleeding. It generally happens right about 7 to 10 days after the act of conception occurs. In some cases, implantation bleeding can be mistaken for an early onset of a period. Implantation bleeding is generally pinkish to brown in color. This type of spotting is generally scanty and spotty. It normally occurs a week to a few days before your period would normally start. Spotting that occurs around a week after ovulation is likely implantation bleeding.
Other causes of intermenstrual bleed are high levels of stress, cholesterol, hormonal imbalance, smoking, dramatic changes in your life style,PCOS or fibroid uterus.
I feel that it can be implantation bleeding because of its occurrence near your ovulation days and also due to soreness of the breasts which can be a sign of early pregnancy also.
You will need to take the wait and see approach or take a pregnancy test to determine pregnancy. If you suspect pregnancy you can test for pregnancy as early as ten days after ovulation or most accurately by UPT after 1 week of your due periods date..
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries
Hello,
Since your bleeding has turned heavy and is associated with clotting now, chances of implantation bleeding are bleak. It now seems to be intermenstrual bleeding. Intermenstrual bleeding may be due to many causes. It can be due to genital infections esp chalamydia or cervical polyps .They are tiny, harmless growths on the outer surface of the cervix and can bleed after intense sexual intercourse.Stress and anxiety can also cause intermenstrual bleeding.
Other causes may be uterine fibroids, miscarriage after a pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, fluctuation in hormone levels,IUD(intrauterine device)use, use of anticoagulant drugs and hypothyroidism.
Since you are trying for conception,so ectopic pregnancy and a possible miscarriage or sponataneos abortion have to be ruled out. Please do a home based urine for pregnancy test and get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist.
Pls get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist as pelvic examination and investigations are required to confirm a diagnosis.Heavy bleeding can lead to anemia and chances of hemorrhagic shock. So pls consult soon.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any other queries.
